Bronwen Christianos
Bronwen is a writer who has focused on researching and writing about New Zealand issues.
Her interest in finding ways to bring about wide reaching social change in New Zealand started some years ago, at the time the youth suicide rate per capita was announced for the first time. The fact that it was the highest in the world seemed to her to be completely unacceptable.
Bronwen was awarded a Social Entrepreneur grant in 2003, and was able with this assistance to attend a Health Realization Conference in the United States, which was profiling some cutting edge approaches to entrenched social problems. The success of their methods was gaining widespread support from US Government funding bodies.
Bronwen is a founding member of Whiti Te Ra Hou Trust, which is committed to supporting initiatives which aim to improve the overall well being and mental health of New Zealanders. |
