Whiti Te Ra Hou Trust has been set up to encourage a new approach to dealing with New Zealand’s serious social problems.

Whiti Te Ra Hou Trust will support initiatives that are aimed at improving the overall well being and mental health of New Zealanders.

From our mission statement: To promote and encourage programmes and projects whose aim is to improve the mental health of New Zealanders, in particular by raising their self-esteem through:

1. Creative enterprises designed to enhance their positive appreciation of Aotearoa New Zealand; and
2. Initiatives that will promote their well-being through positive experiences

The millions that are spent yearly addressing these social problems have not resulted in any significant shift in our high rate per capita statistics: suicide, child abuse, incarceration etc.

Whiti Te Ra Hou Trust supports and encourages projects and programmes that are aimed at affecting positively at the most fundamental level, the well being of the citizens of New Zealand.
